About Us

Who We Are

Welcome to Gourmara! Born from a love of sharing and discovery, Gourmara offers tested and trusted recipes, practical cooking advice, quick and healthy meal ideas, and articles to broaden your culinary knowledge. Our content covers many categories: from appetizers and main courses to desserts, drinks and snacks, 30-minute meals and fast breakfasts, recipes tailored for gluten-free, low-calorie, nutrient-rich or vegetarian/vegan diets, and a wide range of world cuisines – Moroccan, Italian, French, Japanese and beyond. We also publish Table Talk pieces featuring cooking tips, food trends, ingredient spotlights and gear reviews.

Our Story

Gourmara was launched in 2025 by a small team of food enthusiasts who wanted to create a friendly space to share recipes and food stories. After years of cooking for our families and friends, we decided to archive our dishes and discoveries online so everyone could enjoy them. Over time, we expanded our horizons: today we present recipes from diverse cultures, educational articles on ingredients such as sumac, and lifestyle pieces like designing an outdoor cooking space.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to help you enjoy cooking and eating. Whether you’re making a nostalgic treat like our Broken Glass Jelly Squares, which are “as beautiful to look at as they are delicious”, or exploring a complex spice with bright, lemony and smoky notes like sumac, we aim to demystify cooking and make it approachable for everyone. Great food starts with good recipes, quality ingredients and inspiration, and we also promote a balanced, varied diet that reflects the diversity of kitchens and cultures.

What You’ll Find on Gourmara

  • Detailed recipes: Starters, mains, desserts and drinks organised by theme (hot appetizers, comfort classics, festive dishes, vegetarian options, etc.). Each recipe includes step‑by‑step instructions and has been tested to ensure delicious results.
  • Easy & Quick meals: Dishes ready in 30 minutes, fast breakfasts, one‑pot wonders and simple salads for days when time is short.
  • Healthy Living: Advice and recipes for better eating (gluten‑free, low-calorie, nutrient-rich, diabetic-friendly, vegetarian or vegan).
  • World Flavors: A culinary journey around the world – from Moroccan tagines to Italian pasta, French baking or Japanese classics.
  • Table Talk: Articles on cooking techniques, food trends, ingredient deep dives and kitchen gadget reviews. For example, we explain the origins and uses of spices like sumac and show how an outdoor kitchen can transform your gatherings.

Our Editorial Approach

We are committed to producing high-quality, fact-checked content. Before publication, each article and recipe is thoroughly reviewed to ensure accuracy, clarity, and usefulness.

  1. In-depth research: We verify facts (ingredient history, cooking techniques, nutritional information).
  2. Kitchen testing: Every recipe is cooked in a home kitchen with everyday equipment to guarantee consistent results.
  3. Careful editing: Our writers and editors review each post for clarity, completeness and usefulness.

Our recipes and articles are original and respect copyright. Editorial integrity remains independent even when products are recommended; all suggestions are based on testing, not on commercial relationships.

Our Values

  • Quality & reliability: We emphasise fresh ingredients, proven techniques and practical tips.
  • Inclusion & diversity: Food is universal. We celebrate all cultures and accommodate varied diets (gluten‑free, vegetarian, vegan, etc.).
  • Health & well-being: Our articles highlight the nutritional benefits of ingredients (for example, antioxidant-rich spices like sumac) and ways to cook more healthfully.
  • Transparency: We disclose when links are affiliate. Ads on the site meet Google AdSense policies (no sensitive or misleading content) and are placed so as not to disrupt the reading experience.
  • Sustainability: We encourage using local, seasonal produce, reducing waste and practising sustainable cooking.

Advertising & Partnerships

Gourmara is supported through advertising and, occasionally, affiliate links. If you purchase a product via one of our links, we may earn a small commission. This does not affect your price nor influence our selection – we only recommend items we’ve tested and like.
